Sciemus appoints Dennis Mahoney as Chairman

Tuesday 29th November - Sciemus, the analytics and modelling company that services the insurance and finance markets, today announced the appointment of insurance industry veteran Dennis Mahoney as Chairman of the company.

Mr. Mahoney, who was formerly Chairman of Aon Group, will become Chairman of the Board, effective 28th of November, 2011. He is also to become an investor in the company.

Sciemus, which is also a specialty managing general agency, has shown a growth of 970% in net revenue in the past five years, and counts among its blue chip insurance clients Ascot, Montpelier Re, Ecclesiastical and RLI.
Mr. Mahoney will help establish Sciemus as a global player and optimise the value of the company and its products.

Mr. Mahoney was named Chairman of Aon Global in 2007 and served in this position until his retirement in May 2009. Previously, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Aon Limited, a division of Aon Corporation, and was responsible for the overall coordination of all the Aon operations located in the UK. In addition to his company responsibilities, in 1996, Mr. Mahoney was elected as the first Chairman of the World Insurance Network (WIN).

He also served as a Deputy Chairman of Lloyd's Insurance Broking Committee for many years and was a past President of the Insurance Institute of London. Mr. Mahoney was Chairman of Troika Insurance (the company established by the UK Government after the World Trade Centre event to provide third party war and terrorism cover for passenger airlines).
