QinetiQ is a leading international defence and security technology company, who develop technology-based solutions and products for major government organisations, such as the UK MOD and the US DoD, and for commercial customers around the world.

Formerly the UK’s Defence Evaluation Research Agency (DERA), QinetiQ have built up significant intellectual capital and expertise in a wide range of sectors.

By partnering with QinetiQ, Sciemus has leveraged on QinetiQ’s heritage in reliability engineering, modelling and risk assessment to create the best risk assessment tools available.

Liberty Syndicates

Liberty Syndicates are one of the largest managing agents at Lloyd’s. Liberty Syndicates is a wholly owned subsidiary of Liberty International Underwriters, a division of the Liberty Mutual Group.

In January 2006, Liberty Syndicates and Sciemus entered into a business venture to analyse and underwrite satellite risks through the LIBSAT Consortium (Libsat).

Libsat is the world’s largest satellite insurer and can write up to $225m per satellite, and currently has one third of the market share in geocommunication satellite insurance. Libsat targets premiere satellite operators through advanced risk assessment.

The Premium Rates are based directly upon the technical rates that are generated using advanced models, which means that better risks are offered better rates.

Inter-Hanover

Inter Hannover is wholly owned by Hannover Re, one of the leading reinsurance groups in the world, and is registered in the UK. Inter Hannover specialise in writing insurance business via agents or similar organisations and direct and facultative business worldwide, providing strong capital and ‘A+’ Standards & Poor’s rated security. Sciemus and Inter Hannover will be underwriting power plant insurance based on the outputs of the PowerRAT model, with an initial $50M capacity.
